A fundraising dinner attended by The Earl of Wessex was held by Windsor Festival.
The event on January 27 was in support of the Windsor Festival International String Competition, which is running from March 15-21.
Prince Edward attended as patron of the festival.
Martin Denny, Windsor Festival director, said they need to raise further funds to make it the 'foremost competition of its kind in the world'.
"In particular the launch this year of Berkshire Maestros Young String Player of the Year organised by Maestros and Windsor Festival to run in parallel with the International Competition demonstrates our commitment to encouraging local talent," he said.
"The support of our Patron and those who attended the Dinner is much appreciated, and the funds raised will help our work with young people enormously.”
The dinner was held at Coworth Park and the total raised is still being calculated.
