Burglars stole a laptop after getting into a property in Windsor through an unlocked door.
Crooks went down an alleyway behind Prince Consort Cottages before getting into one of the gardens through an unlocked garden gate.
They then entered the house through the insecure kitchen door and searched the ground floor while the owner was asleep upstairs.
A Dell laptop, handbag, paperwork, jacket and an iPhone 5 were stolen.
The jacket was searched and abandoned in the alleyway.
The break-in took place on overnight on Friday into Saturday.
Call police on 101 with information.
