Two boating projects have been given a cash boost in the latest round of the Royal Borough’s neighbourhood budget scheme.
The Windsor Boys’ School Boat Club and the 1st Maidenhead Sea Scout Group received £2,000 each.
The scheme involves groups and clubs nominating themselves for funding. A public vote on the Royal Borough website then decides who receives the money.
“We are very proud and grateful the community has voted in support of our club when there were so many other worthy and deserving charities also involved in the scheme,” said Mark Wilkinson, director of rowing and the committee of The Windsor Boys’ School Boat Club, which also had £279 match funding.
The current list residents are voting on can be found on the council’s website.
Voting closes on April 13.
