Captain Barnacles and Kwazii from kids TV show Octonauts dropped anchor at Royal Windsor Racecourse on Bank Holiday Monday.
The characters from the show made a special appearance at the Maidenhead Road racecourse's Silver Ring enclosure.
The crowd, estimated to be between five and six thousand strong, watched as jockeys in their colourful silks galloped past on gleaming racehorses at the May Bank Holiday Family Fun Day.
As well as a full race schedule, there was also a number of other activities on offer to entertain families.
Free pony rides and face painting proved to be very popular and there was also a fairground.
Charity Help For Heroes also had a stall and the racecourse will be the finishing point for their Hero Rides, due to take place next month.
Naomi Joyce, marketing manager at the racecourse, said: "It has been a fantastic day. We are really pleased that the sun has been shining for us again.
"It has been a great family day out, everyone seems to be enjoying themselves."
She added their next family fun day on June 28 will feature appearances from Thomas The Tank Engine and The Fat Controller.
