The Queen's Windsor base has been named among the top 10 landmarks in the UK in TripAdvisor's Travellers' Choice awards for landmarks.
Windsor Castle was named ninth in the awards, which were announced today by the review website.
James Kay, a spokesman for TripAdvisor, said the awards, now in their third year, highlight some of the world's must-see attractions.
“The UK is blessed with a lot of fantastic landmarks, but especially in the summer they can prove very popular, so it often pays to plan ahead and book a tour in advance,” he said.
Topping the UK list was the Tower of London and joining the landmarks in the list was Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Tower Bridge, Edinburgh Castle and Royal Yacht Britannia.
The awards are based on reviews given by TripAdvisor travellers.
The most popular European landmark according to the awards is the Basilica of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona and the number one landmark in the world is Angkor Wat in Siem Reap in Cambodia.
