Romantic ballads rang out through Cumberland Lodge on Wednesday as an Old Windsor resident held a final fundraiser in her quest to raise money for the Thames Hospice.
Jenny Barty, 71, is abseiling 100m down Portsmouth’s Spinnaker Tower on Sunday and has been holding a host of events to raise sponsorship.
She was joined by more than 30 fundraisers at the 17th century country house in Windsor Great Park for an afternoon of classical romantic music.
Pianist Nadia Giliova and classical musician Lila Moshtael serenaded the guests before a raffle and auction took place.
Mote than £1,600 was raised at the event, with fundraisers battling it out for auction prizes including a dinner for four at Wentworth Golf Club.
Jenny said: “It was absolutely wonderful and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. I’m feeling calm and fine about Sunday, I’m just glad all my fundraising is done now.”
