Young sisters from Old Windsor wowed at a judo competition.
The Damas sisters from Windsor Judo Club both placed in the top three in the Kent International competition on Saturday, June 27.
Isabelle, 11, won a gold medal after three rounds. Younger sister Leonor, nine, was awarded a bronze medal after her fight went into extra time – known as Golden Score.
The pair both attend St Peter’s CE Middle School in Crimp Hill Road.
They have been doing judo for around a year-and-a-half and train three times a week.
Junior coach Danni Batt is impressed by the girls.
“They have got a lot of potential to go far,” she said. “To only send two to compete and come away with two medals is really good.
“I competed for many years and the best I got [at the Kent International] was a bronze.
“It is one of the biggest competitions of the year and the standard is very high.”
Windsor Judo Club has around 100 members of all ages, from five to 69.
