A photographer who used Playmobil pieces to recreate the sealing of the Magna Carta scooped a photography prize at the Royal Windsor summer show on Saturday.
Adam Lane, 22, who lives in Slough and is a member of the Royal Windsor Rose and Horticultural Society, won the Windsor Express Magna Carta Photography Challenge for his imaginative effort.
With the help of his mum, Lesley, Adam scoured the internet for medieval Playmobil figures that would fit in his ‘small people’s project’.
He ensured every detail was covered, right down to a miniature Magna Carta scroll, and set the figures up for a picture by the Water Gardens in Cliveden House.
The photography enthusiast, who studies at Reading College’s learners with learning difficulties department, then lay on the ground to capture his prize-winning shot of the Magna Carta sealing.
His mum Lesley said: “What seemed to work really well was mixing real with not real.
“We were just trying to create the theme from our imagination of what the Magna Carta sealing could be like.”
Adam added: “It’s not about winning and losing, it’s about having fun."
