Scouts from Windsor and Eton were due to fly out to Japan on Friday to take part in the World Scout Jamboree.
Dylan Crick, Zander MacKay, James Redford, Jack Goddard and Alex Clark were selected in 2013 to represent Windsor and Eton Scout District at the jamboree.
The event will see 36,000 scouts from across the world descend on Yamaguchi in the south of Honshu Island for three weeks of activities and community work.
They will also stay three nights with a Japanese scout family and visit the Hiroshima Peace Gardens to mark the 70th anniversary of the atomic bombing of the city in the Second World War.
David Smith, district commissioner for Windsor and Eton Scouts, said: “With the programme planned it is set to be the experience of a lifetime.”
