A Staffie at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home (BDCH) has found a new home after 464 days at the centre in Old Windsor.
Martha, a Staffordshire bull terrier, was renamed by staff at BDCH after Martha Collison, a Charters School student who became the youngest ever contestant on last year's series of The Great British Bake Off.
They hoped having a famous namesake would attract more attention and secure a home for the dog, as well as launching an appeal.
On Friday, the chocolate-coloured dog was re-homed and will now settle down in Newcastle.
Her time at the kennels in Priests Hill far exceeds the average stay of 29 days.
More than 50 street parties are set to take place this weekend across the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead and the surrounding areas.
An independent report into a Conservative councillor has found a breach of the Royal Borough’s code of conduct in a document seen by the Advertiser.
