A Windsor pub was evacuated this afternoon (Tuesday) when police were called to investigate a suspicious package.
The Duchess of Cambridge was closed on the advice of police when an envelope with 'unusual writing' was discovered in the pub.
Thames Valley Police were called to the scene before 2pm and tweeted that the pub in Thames Street was evacuated after a 'suspect package' was found but no road closures were in place.
The force tweeted at 2.27pm to say the package was 'deemed not suspicious'.
A spokesman for the pub said: "There was a suspect package found by the general manager and police advised us to close. A sniffer dog was brought in.
"There may have been a second package but we are not sure if it was related.
"Everyone was safe and the service from the police and everyone who came was very good."
The pub has now reopened.
