A free concert tomorrow (Sunday) will officially unveil Windsor’s new bandstand.
The bandstand in Alexandra Gardens has been designed to celebrate the link between the Queen, the armed forces and Windsor in light of her becoming the longest reigning monarch.
The project is largely funded by the Community Covenant Grant Scheme and has been designed to replicate the park’s original Edwardian bandstand, which was removed in the 1950s.
The Mayor of Windsor and Maidenhead, Cllr Eileen Quick, visited the site on Monday, September 7, to help with the finishing touches.
Commemorative steel artwork on the six sides of the bandstand will be installed next year.
The launch concert is from 2-4.30pm and coincides with the start of Windsor Festival.
There will be music from the Windsor Sea Cadets, The Windsor Boys’ School swing band and Quire Voices.
