Royal Windsor Racecourse is set to feature in an upcoming film about the feminist movement of suffragettes in the UK.
Scenes from Suffragette, an intense drama following women and their quest to secure the right to vote, were filmed at the racecourse in Maidenhead Road in 2014.
The film is due to be released on Monday and features performances from stars including Helena Bonham Carter, Meryl Streep and Carey Mulligan.
Stuart Dorn, executive director at the racecourse, said: "We are extremely proud that the film-makers chose Royal Windsor Racecourse.
"The suffragette movement played an unrivalled, pivotal role in shaping the country we live in today and we feel honoured that our course was chosen as the filming location for this historical and poignant movie.”
More than 50 street parties are set to take place this weekend across the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead and the surrounding areas.
An independent report into a Conservative councillor has found a breach of the Royal Borough’s code of conduct in a document seen by the Advertiser.
