A filmmaker has appeared at Reading Magistrates' Court after pleading guilty to attacking a man who was having an affair with his wife.
Julian Phelan, 41, of Helena Road, Windsor, admitted a charge of actual bodily harm following the incident on July 18 at the Urban Suite Trinity Yard, in St Leonards Road.
Speaking for the prosecution, Lauren Sales told the court that during the assault Phelan had punched and bitten his victim.
He told the court Phelan had said to the man, ‘I’m going to f*****g kill you, this isn’t over.’
Defending, Ben Langley said his client had launched the attack after finding out about the relationship between the two.
He added Phelan, who makes humanitarian films, was currently working on a film in Pakistan and had recently raised £35,000 for charity.
He is due to return to the court for sentencing on Tuesday.
