Family and friends said goodbye to a mother from Dedworth on Wednesday.
Karen Mathieson, 54, died from cancer on Tuesday, December 29 and her funeral took place at Holy Trinity Garrison church in Windsor High Street.
Her husband James told the Express last week that she died waiting for an apology from the authorities over the murder of daughter Melissa in Bristol in 2014.
James said: “I’m now left without a daughter or a wife and the feeling of sorrow... Karen was a well-liked person and if you met her, she was hard to forget.”
Karen was buried next to her daughter in Oakley Green Cemetery.
Eighteen-year-old Melissa was strangled in assisted living accommodation by Jason Conroy, who has since been jailed for her murder.
Melissa and Conroy both had learning difficulties and her family blames adult services for accommodating them close to each other.
