Petitions opposing Donald Trump’s entry into the UK and calling for the UK to accept more asylum seekers have attracted the most signatures from people living in Windsor.
Data taken from the official Parliament website shows a move to ban US presidential candidate Trump from the UK has attracted 1,239 signatures in the town. The petition has been signed by 578,789 people overall.
The second most popular petition in Adam Afriyie's constituency appealed to accept more asylum seekers and increase support for refugee migrants in the UK, being signed by 706 people to date.
‘Stop all immigration and close the UK borders until ISIS is defeated’ and ‘Stop allowing immigrants into the UK’ ranked third and fifth respectively for gaining the highest number of signatures by people in Windsor.
A petition to introduce a tax on sugary drinks in the UK to improve children’s health also made the top five most popular petitions.
'Don't ban Trump from the United Kingdom’ gained 83 signatures.
