Europe’s largest inflatable slide will return to Windsor in September following the success of its first appearance last year.
The slide will be part of the 5km Gung Ho! challenge tackling ‘Britain’s biggest inflatable obstacle course’ at Windsor Racecourse on Saturday, September 10.
Last year’s event saw 2,200 runners slip and slide their way across 10 tricky obstacles while raising money for charity.
Windsor is one of 12 venues chosen to host the whacky challenge by CBeebies presenter and Gung Ho! creator Alex Winters, and will this year have an increased capacity of 5,000 runners.
Alex said: “It was absolutely fantastic last year. It was beautiful, sunny day and we had more spectators than we had ever had before.
“There were loads of people turning out in fancy dress and raising money for charity. All over the course people were helping each other out – the team spirit and atmosphere was amazing.
“It was our last race of 2015 and what a way to finish the year. I really wanted us to be able to get back to Windsor Racecourse, and thankfully we have managed it. I can’t wait for the race.”
Runners, who must be at least 4ft tall, receive a free bib with race number, a Gung-Ho! T-shirt and an exclusive Gung-Ho! style headband. Spectators can head along for free and enjoy food stalls and music.
Tickets are available now for £30, with prices going up closer to the event. Visit www.begung-ho.co.uk for more information.
