Windsor car wash hoping to find new home

An appeal has been made to help find a new home for a busy car washing company.

The Windsor Hand Car Wash, run by Slough residents Ahmaid Hamarashid and Kaiwan Jabar, currently provides a hand car wash service from its base at The Windsor Club in Helston Lane.

It has been there for the past five years. But with the club due to be demolished in June to make way for the Castle View Windsor retirement village, the car wash faces an uncertain future if it cannot find a new site.

The new development will be overseen by Castle Retirement Living and its marketing consultant Julie Birch told the Express the company is keen to help Windsor Hand Car Wash find a new home.

Julie said: “It would be a real shame because they seem to do a really good job so we wanted to help them find somewhere to go.

“They’re just looking for another location in the surrounding area and want to speak to anyone that can help them.”

Ahmaid, co-owner of the car wash, added: “We have built up a loyal customer base who are very happy with the service our team provides.

“We urgently need to find a new site in the Windsor area and would be very grateful for help with this.”

Work on the Castle View Windsor project, which will feature 58 apartments for people aged over 55, and a 72-bed care home has been repeatedly delayed over the past three years.

The latest hold-up involved re-routing sewage pipes under the existing site.

But Julie added that the group is ‘excited’ to be finally starting work on the £30million retirement village project.

“There’s not really anything like this in Windsor so we’ve had a lot of interest from residents which is good,” Julie added.

Anyone who can help Ahmaid and Kaiwan find a new location can contact them via Castle Retirement Living at or on 01753 378127.
