Horse racing enthusiasts flocked to Royal Windsor Racecourse on Monday to see the course’s first flat racing fixture of the season.
Punters enjoyed a jam-packed card with eight races on show including the Windsor Vehicle Leasing Maiden Stakes.
The meeting marked the start of an exciting year for the Maidenhead Road course as it prepares to celebrate its 150th anniversary.
Racegoers were able to get the first taste of a special beer brewed by the Windsor and Eton Brewery which will be sold at the racecourse throughout the season to commemorate its 150 year history.
Stuart Dorn, Royal Windsor Racecourse’s executive director, said: “We have made some improvements around the racecourse over winter for racegoers and we are looking forward to an exciting season ahead.”
Royal Windsor’s first Monday night fixture of the season kicks off on Monday.
