A cancer sufferer has completed ‘a bucket list dream’ with a London to Paris charity cycle ride.
Bob Munro, 56, of Grove Road in Windsor, suffers from myeloma - a rare and incurable bone marrow cancer.
He was part of a130-strong team raising money for Myeloma UK, which included his two sons and former workmates at HiFX in Windsor.
They completed the mammoth cycle ride on Monday, with Bob branding it ‘a phenomenal success’.
He said mixing with other people touched by the cancer was ‘an amazing shared experience for a common cause’.
“Personally I realised the bucket list dream I had three-years-ago of riding up to the Arc de Triomphe on closed roads with a police escort like a Tour de France pro,” he said.
“I wasn't the only one in tears at the finish as about 100 family and friends met us near the Eiffel Tower.”
Overall the team is on target to raise more than £3,000 for Myeloma UK.
Bob has already surpassed his £5,000 fundraising target. Visit www.justgiving.com/BobMunroMyelomaRide2016 to sponsor him.
