A family tradition and years of service has been rewarded with a prestigious prize for a member of the Lions Club of Windsor.
The club presented The Melvin Jones Fellowship to Diane Purchase on Monday.
With 16 years under her belt, she is a long-serving member of the group and in 2004 was the first woman president of the club.
The Melvin Jones Fellowship is a Lions International award where nominees are elected by their peers.
Diane said: “I am honoured and not a little flattered that my colleagues should feel that I merit such a prestigious honour. I am very grateful.”
Her involvement in the group follows family tradition as her parents were also lions.
Diane’s husband Harry also won the award after his own stint as president and now their four children are involved in the club too.
