The number of crimes in inner Windsor during November was down on the same time last year, police have said.

The force said a total of 150 took place last month, a drop of 37 incidents from 2010 when 187 were recorded.

Assaults dropped to 24 from 40, but theft from vehicles did rise to 10 from three, while theft of vehicles dropped to one from three.

One burglary from a house took place, compared to none last year, and burglaries not at properties went down to two from three.

Police also issued a warning for the Christmas period about the importance of securing cars and not to display items in vehicles.
