Two schools across Maidenhead joined forces last week for a musical performance of Beat Bullying for Anti-Bullying Week.
Year seven and eight students from Cox Green School and students from Manor Green School took part in the outdoor performance.
This is part of a national campaign to raise awareness, spread kindness and form safer spaces in schools for students.
The rain held off until the end of the show, which saw more than 400 students from both schools take centre stage at Cox Green School in Highfield Lane.
The students had been rehearsing for more than a week in preparation for the collaboration.
The collective featured drums, handmade by students using recyclable materials.
Charlotte Morgan-Russell, deputy headteacher at Cox Green School, said: “Cox Green and Manor Green staff were extremely proud of the student drummers, leading the performance and keeping time on the African drums.
“Several students incorporated sign language into parts of the performance to make the event accessible and enjoyable for all members of the school community.”
Cox Green School has been undertaking several activities as part of Anti-Bullying Week, including themed assemblies, workshops and the popular Odd Socks Day.
Students are currently working on a school ‘anti-bullying pledge’, which they are decorating and signing to commemorate Anti-Bullying Week.
Cox Green headteacher Danny Edwards and fellow staff members have thanked their guests from Manor Green School, which included headteacher Helen Hannam, for ‘such a successful collaborating and inspiring event’.
