Key figures and organisations gathered to honour the fallen and pay their respects at a Remembrance Sunday service in Maidenhead town centre.
Royal Borough deputy mayor Sian Martin was joined by council leader Simon Werner, Maidenhead MP Josh Reynolds, fellow councillors and council staff for the ceremony.
The morning started with a parade featuring a range of organisations, armed forces, cadets and scout troops marching through the town centre to the war memorial outside Maidenhead Town Hall on St Ives Road.
The streets were lined with crowds paying their respects as Rev Jon Drake of St Mary’s Church in Maidenhead gave a welcome, ahead of the national anthem.
The service also included an act of remembrance and hymns and prayers.
At 11am, a two-minute silence was held, which was followed by the Lord’s Prayer.
Several organisations laid wreaths at the war memorial, including the Royal British Legion, Claires Court CCF, the Maidenhead and Taplow Sea and Marine Cadets, the Lions Club of Maidenhead, the Windsor and Maidenhead Community Forum (WAMCF), and the Maidenhead WI.
Wreaths were also placed by Cllr Martin, Cllr Werner, and Josh Reynolds MP.
Following this, attendees made their way to St Mary’s Church where the service continued, with civic dignitaries and uniformed organisations in attendance.
The Colours and Standards were presented at the start of the church service, before a welcome was given and a hymn was sung.
The service also saw two Ukrainian guests speak about the impact of the war in Ukraine.
Cllr Sian Martin gave a bible reading and the service also included an address by Rev Adam Curtis, prayers, hymns and a blessing.
After the service, a parade of uniformed organisations marched through St Ives Road one last time.
