Spooky version of WiFi Wars game show to come to Norden Farm

A spooky version of the live comedy game show WiFi Wars is set to come to Norden Farm this October half term.

Participants can log in with their smartphone or tablet and compete in a range of puzzles, games and quizzes to win the show and prizes.

It is hosted by comedian Steve McNeil (team captain on UK TV’s hit comedy gaming show Dara O’ Briain’s Go 8 Bit), and aided by the award-winning Rob Sedgebeer, a Guinness World Record breaking tech whizz.

The show was first performed as part the Royal Institution’s 2015 Summer Programme, following Rob and Steve’s appearance on their 2014 BBC Christmas Lectures.

In 2016, they returned with a new show, at which they broke the Guinness World Record for the most people playing a single game of pong.

An early version of the technology used as part of the show was developed by Rob Sedgebeer and loaned to the live incarnation of McNeil and Pamphilon’s show Go 8 Bit.

They also had their own stage at Eurogamer’s EGX, welcoming more than 80,000 people to the event over four days at Earl’s Court.

Rob’s technology is used ‘extensively’ in the TV show.

WiFi Wars will take place at Norden Farm on Thursday, October 30 from 2pm to 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £16.50 and £13.50 for those under the age of 16.

For a group of four, tickets costs £54.

The matinee is open to those over the age of six and the evening is open to anyone over the age of 12.
