Following the second postponement of the club’s tie with Ascot United, Maidenhead United have chosen to withdraw from this season’s Berks & Bucks Senior Cup competition.
The Magpies had initially been set to travel to the Racecourse Ground at the end of November, but the game was called off and pushed back until just before Christmas due to ongoing and rising numbers of COVID cases in the camp.
A second flurry of positive tests meant the rearranged tie on Tuesday, December 21 also had to be called off and the Magpies have since opted to withdraw from the competition, meaning Ascot have a bye into the next round.
The club has wished Ascot United all the best for their tie against Thatcham Town in round two.
Marlow are also set to visit Didcot Town in the next round, while Slough Town’s conquerors, Beaconsfield Town will host Sandhurst Town.
In the other county cup round two ties, Chesham United host Hungerford Town and Long Crendon host Binfield.
