2009: People of all ages walked off their festive indulgences on a New Year’s Day walk in Pinkneys Green.

Braving a chilly day, a group of 35 walkers took part in a one-and-a-half hour wander, which was organised by Pinkneys Green Scout Group.

2014: Flood alerts were issued as a week of rain caused havoc across East Berkshire.

A month’s worth of rain fell at the start of January, causing localised flooding and road closures.

Cookham Moor was underwater, while flooding caused issues in Ferry Lane in Bourne End and at Higginson Park in Marlow.

2014: The weather held off as runners tackled a gruelling cross country course against the spectacular backdrop of Cliveden House.

More than 500 competitors took part in the annual Cliveden Cross Country Run, organised by Burnham Joggers.

2019: Town centre businesses were preparing to leave their premises ahead of the start of work on The Landing development.

Nightclub Coco and Italian restaurant Francesco’s were among the businesses set to leave their premises on the eastern side of King Street.

Many of the owners and directors of shops and restaurants on the stretch reported difficulties in finding suitable alternative locations as they prepared to make way for the new development.

2019: Almost £22,000 was pledged at the Lions Club of Maidenhead Swimarathon.

It was the 34th annual fundraiser for the organisation, in which 800 people aged three to 83 swam a total of more than 283 miles.
