Rebecca Ortega
Norden Farm is set to welcome an evening of passion, rhythm and intensity as a flamenco dancer from Seville brings her dance act to Maidenhead.
Raices – Rebecca Ortega gives the audience an opportunity to be immersed in the rich culture of Andalusia, complete with traditional and modern flamenco artistry.
Rebecca is joined by the ‘UK’s leading flamenco guitarist’ Ramon Ruiz and accompanied by the deep soulful voice of fellow Sevillian Carlos Lobo.
From the deepest roots of flamenco culture: the alegrias, the depth of the tangos and bulerias and the jondura of the solea and the farruca; the performance showcases the best in Spanish dance.
Raices was a finalist piece in the Madrono Young Dance creators Contest and has been on a global tour from China and Malaysia, to Ethiopia and Gabon throughout 2023.
Rebecca started her dance career at the age of 19, performing and teaching Flamenco in the UK for four years alongside her university studies.
She is the founder of Nottingham Flamenquitas and took to the stage as part of the flamenco company Teatro Flamenco La for its 2015 performance of A Mi Manera in Madrid.
As a solo performer she has taken part in four Edinburgh Fringe Festival productions, one of which – Flamenco For Kids – was televised as one of the festivals best shows for kids.
Tickets for the show are £17 and can be purchased online by clicking here, or by calling the box office on 01628 788997.
The performance takes place on Friday 28 June at 8pm.
