Teen and man, 47,  charged with GBH over attack outside Maidenhead Mosque

Police have charged two people in connection with an attempted murder investigation after an attack outside Maidenhead Mosque left a man needing hospital treatment.

A 17-year-old boy from Maidenhead, who cannot be named due to his age, was charged with grievous bodily harm and possession of a knife in a public place yesterday (May 31).

Mohammed Shahzad, 47, from Edinburgh Road in Maidenhead, has also been charged with one count of grievous bodily harm.

Police were called to Holmanleaze in Maidenhead on Friday afternoon, where a man in his 30s had been assaulted. He suffered major injuries and remains in hospital.  

Shahzad and the teenager have been remanded in police custody and are set to appear at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Monday (June 2).
