South Street Arts Centre in Reading is seeing a return visit from comedian Rob Auton coming up on Saturday, March 15.

Rob Auton's The Eyes Open and Shut Show is his eleventh performance piece, blending stand-up comedy, poetry, and philosophical musings.

In it, Auton delves into the theme of eyes – both open and shut – to explore the nuances between merely seeing and truly perceiving the world around us.

There are ‘only a handful of tickets left’ for this ‘award-winning and highly acclaimed stand-up,’ says South Street Arts Centre.

The Eyes Open and Shut Show is the multi award-winning comedian, podcaster, and writer’s biggest tour yet.

It follows his second consecutive British Podcast Award win and a sold-out run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Auton has written 10 hit Edinburgh Festival Fringe spoken word shows on specific themes – the colour yellow in The Yellow Show; sleep in The Sleep Show and hair in The Hair Show.

He is also known for his work on Starstruck, The End of the F***ing World and Miracle Workers.

Through his trademark perspective, Auton will explore our approach to the world through our eyes, interweaving guided meditations with evocative imagery.

With more than 39 performances nationwide, The Eyes Open and Shut Show tour kicked off with a week-long run in London and culminates at Leeds’ City Varieties Musical Hall on May 3.

See Rob Auton at South Street Arts Centre, 21 South St, Reading RG1 4QU on March 15 at 8pm. Tickets are £20.
