For more than 65 years, Santa has made an annual tour of Maidenhead in his special motorised sleigh, often glammed up with festive lights to brighten cold winter evenings.
Maidenhead Round Table has ensured he rides his sleigh through the streets of Maidenhead to meet children, and he’s set to return this weekend starting today (Saturday, December 14).
This year will be roving around with his assistants to raise much-needed funds to support local charities.
His rounds have been known to raise several thousands of pounds for good causes including Thames Valley Adventure Playground (TVAP), Thames Valley Air Ambulance, Thames Hospice, Alexander Devine Children's Hospice, MENCAP, The Brett Foundation, Maidenhead Foodshare, Royal British Legion, Men in Sheds and more.
Father Christmas will be starting his rounds in Cranbrook Drive on Saturday, December 14.
This includes Cranbroke Drive, Beverley Gardens, Balmoral, Hemsdale, Lyneham Gardens, Mallow Park/Briar Dene/Ostler Gate, Gwendale, Avondale, The Paddock and Brompton Drive.
Next is the Bomber Estate on Tuesday, December 17 including Lancaster Road, Halifax Road, Hampden Road Shops and Blenheim Road.
Santa will make a stop in the Holyport area on Saturday, December 21 including Stompits Road, Stroud Farm Road, Springfield Road, Aysgarth Park, Cadogan Close and The Belgian Arms Pub.
Then it’s the Larchfield area on Sunday, December 22 including Ross Road, Bargeman Road, Larchfield Road, Reid Avenue, Brunel Avenue, Brunel Gardens, Larchfield Road, Faneway/Curls Road/Suffolk Road.
The Cox Green and Chiltern Road areas will also enjoy Santa’s company but details are TBA.
