Thousands of runners took to the streets of Maidenhead and Cookham yesterday for the fourth annual Pharmalink 2014 Maidenhead Half Marathon.
The two-lap course saw runners sprint in a double loop around Cookham and the North Town area before being welcomed back home by spectators outside Maidenhead Town Hall.
A new course record was set by fastest man Michael Hiscott.
The 31-year-old powered home in just one hour seven minutes and 34 seconds, a full three minutes ahead of his nearest competitor.
The fastest female time was set by Kent Athletic Club member, Amy Clements.
Completing the course in one hour, 20 minutes and 39 seconds the 32-year-old said there had been a lot of support as she made her way around the course.
As well as the main half marathon race, youngsters were also able to take part in a 800m micro-marathon event for under-7s, under-9s and under-11s and a mini-marathon race for older children.
