A social group for women celebrated three years in style at a glitzy event at the Copthorne Hotel on Saturday, April 23.
Meet and Mingle, which was founded by Aksa Marshal in 2013, organises a number of activities to support the mental, physical and emotional well-being of women in the town.
She said the 170 guests who attended the event in Lower Cippenham Lane had a ‘lovely time’.
“I do see the group as a long-term thing and we have grown so much in the last three years,” she said. “It was great to celebrate our achievements.”
The guest of honour at the sold-out event was the MP for Slough, Fiona Mactaggart.
Entertainment included performances by singer Anisa Nasir. Guests also enjoyed a hot dinner and live Bollywood music.
There was an opportunity to browse an exhibition of work by members of Meet & Mingle, such as pottery, fabric painting, glass painting, mirror painting and mosaic.
Another branch of the group is due to be launched on June 9. The Meet and Mingle Support Group will provide help for women who feel isolated in their homes.
