A light aircraft made an emergency landing at Ascot Racecourse on Saturday.

The plane, which was carrying four people, landed on the racecourse at about 6.30pm after it encountered a problem in the air.

Firefighters from Ascot Fire Station arrived shortly after but there was no sign of a fire on board. Nobody was hurt in the incident.

A spokesman from Ascot Racecourse said: “We were warned that the plane had a problem while it was in the air.

“It landed safely on the jumps course and nobody was hurt.”

Thames Valley Police also attended the incident.
