Slough’s league form may be less than desirable at present, but they’ve shown good form in the FA Cup so far, overcoming Welling United on a replay, getting the better of Bedfont Sports away from home before seeing off Enfield Town in a thriller at Arbour Park in the final qualifying round.
On Saturday, they made it to the second round once again as they deservedly defeated National League side Altrincham 2-1 at home with first half goals from Ansu Janneh and Wiktor Makowski.
Macclesfield have been in better form in the National League North, rising to eighth in the table thanks to a 3-1 home win over Peterborough Sports on Tuesday.
They also swept to a 6-3 victory over Slough’s league rivals AFC Totton at home on Saturday to set up this second-round clash that both sides will feel they can win.
The tie will be shown on TNT Sports 2 and Discovery+.
Ticket details will be announced by the club in due course.
