Maidenhead United have released a statement saying the club is collaborating with Thames Valley Police after the emergence of a video on social media appearing to show supporters clashing following Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Farnborough.

While the video in question takes place away from York Road and doesn’t specifically mention either football club, it’s clearly believed to be linked to Saturday’s match.

The club statement read: “Maidenhead United is aware of a video circulating on social media following our home fixture against Farnborough on Saturday, 7th February.

“The club has no tolerance for behaviour which brings the club into disrepute, no matter whether such incidents take place inside or outside of York Road.

“A full investigation is taking place in collaboration with Thames Valley Police. Any individuals identified will face appropriate disciplinary action, which may include a suspension or ban from the club.

“Anyone with additional information should contact Mark Stewart on mark.stewart@maidenheadunitedfc.org

“Maidenhead United remains committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all supporters, players, officials and the wider community.”

This comes just a week after Slough Town began an internal investigation following unsavoury incidents involving supporters both during and after their home win over Chelmsford City.
