Desborough Bowls Club has two new club champions after Keith Roper won the men’s title for the first time and Gina Braddock regained the women’s crown.
Roper claimed the title after defeating Lee Chamberlain while Braddock got the better of Jacinta Moteiro in their final.
Several other players were celebrating victories at the club’s finals day.
· Wayne Renouf reached 4 finals and won 3 of them, winning the novice singles against Paul McVicar, the Mixed Aussie Pairs with another new name Sally Lane and the Men’s Aussie Pairs with Bob Forster. He suffered disappointment in the Nominated Pairs with Dave Smith when he went down to Russell Dale and Mark Peachey.
· Debbie Barklamb won the Ladies Drawn Handicap Pairs with Nicola Jones and the Ladies Drawn Triples with Angie Isaac and Nicola Jones again.
· Bob Forster finally won the Men’s 2 Wood singles title at the third time of asking by beating Lee Chamberlain.
· Tonie Philpott won the Ladies Novice Singles by beating Alex Gilkes and the Mixed Nominated Pairs with Mark Essex.
· Dave Hasler along with Graeme Mason won the Men’s Drawn Handicap Pairs against Hugh Boyce and Michael White.
· Gemma Hanks along with Nicola Jones won the Ladies Aussie Pairs.
· Russell Dale won the Men’s Handicap Singles along with the Over 70’s Singles
