A popular school celebrated 50 golden years on Friday.
Oakfield First School in Imperial Road, Windsor may have been about to enter its second half century.
But it was showing no sign of 'middle age' as children gathered to watch the Mayor of Windsor and Maidenhead Cllr Andrew Jenner officially unveil the recent extension.
They had spent the last few weeks learning how their school had changed over the previous half century and listening to ex-pupils' personal memories.
But Friday's birthday event was also about looking forward to the future, as headteacher Roz Sendorek welcomed the many guests who had come to wish the school well before everyone set off home to enjoy the half term break.
