Emergency services were called to a crash involving two cars and two pedestrians outside Windsor Castle this morning.
Crews from the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service received a call at 7.49am about a crash in Thames Street.
Firefighters rushed to the scene and provided immediate emergency care to five people before handing over to the South Central Ambulance Service.
Pictures showed two crumpled vehicles being recovered from the scene.
A police cordon is still in place.
Crews stayed on the scene for more than an hour.
Thames Street in Windsor has been closed in both directions while emergency services respond to a car crash.
Thames Valley Police said the closure is expected to remain in place for some time.
Drivers are being asked to use alternative routes.
