A former county councillor who ‘always spoke with wisdom’ has died at the age of 90.
John Hubert McBean Page served as a Bucks County Councillor for 12 years representing Burnham and Old Beaconsfield ward from 1989 to 2001.
During his time in office, John was active in planning and transport, chairing the planning and development control committee.
Bill Chapple, chairman of Bucks County Council, said: “John was a close friend and we worked together throughout his time on the council.
“John was a good local member, he always spoke with wisdom, had a wonderful sense of humour, and would always go the extra mile in serving his community.
“He was a great advocate for Buckinghamshire, and we shall miss him.”
He died on May 3 and his funeral will be held tomorrow (Friday) at St Mary and All Angels Church in Beaconsfield. There is to be a private cremation service. The family have requested no flowers, and donations may be made to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, via Arnold Funeral Directors, of Beaconsfield.
