Crime crackdown in Windsor this week as part of Project Servator

Police launched a ‘visible poling’ operation in Windsor and Eton yesterday and caught out some drivers breaking the rules.

Thames Valley Police was involved in Project Servator – which aims to disrupt a range of criminal activity, including terrorism.

These officers are ‘experienced and specially trained to spot the tell-tale signs that someone is planning or preparing to commit an act of crime.’

Project Servator is ‘a year-round tactic’ that is ‘not limited to major events’ and is deployed ‘frequently and unpredictably’ across the Thames Valley.

Both uniformed and plain-clothed police officers arrive unannounced at various locations and patrol.

Results this week included:

  • A man stop searched on suspicion of possessing stolen items.
  • One vehicle seized; the driver reported for driving without insurance or a valid licence.
  • A separate driver reported for careless driving.
  • One vehicle ticketed for an expired MOT.
