Two shoplifters have been bailed pending further enquiries following a police operation to target antisocial behaviour and crime in Maidenhead town centre.
Maidenhead Neighbourhood Police Team carried out a targeted operation with extra police patrols in the area over the weekend.
The Safer Streets Police Operation primarily consisted of foot patrols around the town, including Kidwells Park, Grenfell Park, and surrounding areas.
These operations aim to deter criminal activity, arrest those involved, and deal with any antisocial behaviour taking place.
Results from the operation over the two evenings saw two wanted shoplifters located and arrested by the team. Both have been bailed pending further enquiries.
One man was stopped, searched and found to have class B drugs.
The team also engaged and patrolled local stores, the cinema, the library, and hotspot locations and reported no issues.
No issues were reported following the late-night patrols of the parks.
The force reported seeing fewer e-scooters or illegal e-bikes being used, which remain illegal to use on public roads in Maidenhead and will be seized.
In an update from PCSO Jason Miller from the Maidenhead team, he said: "These types of police Operations have been taking place on a regular basis and have seen good results every time. Our aim is to make Maidenhead a safer place for everyone."
