Parallel Windsor 'festival of inclusivity' set to come to the Long Walk

Parallel Windsor – a festival of inclusivity with physical challenges for all ages and abilities – is coming to the Long Walk on July 6.

From the SuperSensory and 100m to the 10km run through Deer Park, visitors can walk, push, or run the course with no cut off times.

Parallel Windsor’s motto is, ‘Start Together, Finish Whenever’ – everybody participating will receive a medal, T-shirt and goody bag.

Visitors can also explore a number of activities:

• Arts and crafts
• Time with animals, mainly horses and ponies from farms and stables in the area, including mini-Shetlands
• Inclusive football, rugby, wheelchair rugby, cricket, basketball, American football, climbing, shooting and more
• Comedy, dance, immersive and multisensory theatre, cooking, and Tai Chi
• Music and presenters – performances by James Holt, Liza Vallance and the Wheel Elvis tribute act, and more
• Quiet space – a safe sensory pod with interchangeable themes, user-controlled sensory lighting and a memory foam mat
• Storytelling from Cathy Reay, author of ‘How to be Disabled and Proud (or at least kinda sorta okay with it)’, and Vie Portland, a confidence creator who helps those with low self-confidence.

A selection of food and drink will also be available to enjoy in the picnic area.

Parallel Windsor supports more than 40 charities.
