Holyport stand-up Jake Lambert is showcasing his talents this month at Edinburgh’s Fringe Festival with his sketch Lark.
In addition, this 28-year-old, known on his Twitter account for his quick puns, clever wordplay, strange thoughts and short stories, is competing for a chance to be crowned New Comedy Act at this September’s Magners Greenwich Comedy Festival
The competition began in Bristol, in July, where Jake had to showcase his talents in six minutes to get as many laughs as possible from a live audience and a panel of comedy notables.
He now has to secure his place on stage at the event through the support of public votes on the sponsor’s YouTube channel. If his sketches get enough support he will be put forward to compete on stage at the National Maritime Museum.
“I really need the public vote to get me through this round,” said Jake, who turned professional this year.
