An emergency night shelter for homeless people will open tonight (Monday) in Slough following a forecast of very cold weather.
Details of where the night shelter will be hosted are yet to be confirmed, but anyone who may need to use it is being asked to register as soon as possible.
The council opens a night shelter when temperatures are expected to fall below freezing for three consecutive nights.
It is expected to be open until Thursday morning and will be extended if needed.
People can register at MyCouncil in Landmark Place, High Street. This can be done between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Friday, with a later opening time of 10am on Thursdays.
To ensure rough sleepers are made aware of the shelter opening, organisations which come into contact with homeless people including the police, council staff and Slough Homeless Our Concern are informed.
