TWO veterans of the folk music scene are coming to play together at Nettlebed Folk Club next month.
Maddy Prior and Peter Knight, both former members of Steeleye Span, have covered a lot of musical ground in different collaborations.
The band formed in 1969 with Maddy as the lead singer. They had their first big hit, Gaudete, in 1971, the year Peter joined as violinist, and alongside Fairport Convention they helped launch a UK folk music revival.
Each musician has collaborated with many others, while they have many shared memories from their Steeleye Span days.
Nettlebed Folk Club presents an evening with Maddy Prior and Peter Knight at the Village Club in High Street, Nettlebed, on Thursday, February 5 at 7.30pm (doors open at 7pm).
Tickets cost £24 in advance, £25 on the night. For more information, call 01628 636620 (between 10am and 8pm) or visit www.nettlebedfolk club.co.uk
