A speed restriction over a defective track near Hayes & Harlington means fewer trains can run today (Tuesday).

Trains between Reading and Heathrow Terminal 5 or London Paddington may be cancelled, delayed or revised.

Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

To assist passengers with their journey, tickets can be used on the following services, at no extra cost:

  • Great Western Railway between Reading and London Paddington
  • Local buses between West Drayton and London Paddington
  • London Underground on any reasonable route

Passengers should allow for short-notice alterations and platform changes and listen to Elizabeth line station announcements or ask a member of staff for further information.

The following alterations will apply:

  • Great Western Railway services from London Paddington, which terminate at Oxford, will be cancelled
  • Most of the longer-distance Intercity services will continue to run between Reading and London Paddington, but may be subject to delay

Tickets can also be used on:

  • Elizabeth line services between London Paddington and Reading, which call at Slough, Maidenhead and Twyford
  • Chiltern Railways between Oxford and London Marylebone
  • London Underground between London Paddington and London Marylebone
  • CrossCountry services between Oxford and Reading

Heathrow Express will run a half-hourly service all day.

Customers can check their journey using the National Rail Enquiries real-time Journey Planner and may be entitled to compensation if they experience a delay in completing their journey today.
