AN interesting billiards match took place at Trinity Hall, between Trinity Hall and Henley YMCA, on Thursday evening. A good evening’s play was seen and, although the majority of the YMCA players were strange to the full-size tables of their hosts, they had the better of the singles matches. The big match of the evening was Carpenter (YMCA) v Ridge, which Carpenter won by 100-92.
It will be seen from notices in the shop windows that most firms are keeping open on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next week until 7pm and until 9pm on Christmas Eve. Although the hours for shopping have been extended, it is hoped purchasers will do their shopping as early in the day as possible.
