A Paralympic champion was among the judging panel at the second annual Maidenhead School Talent Show.

The event, which celebrates the diverse talents and abilities of children in the community, was hailed a ‘roaring success’ by organisers the Maidenhead Lions Club.

Taking place at the Furze Platt Theatre, the show brought together pupils from five schools across the area to showcase their creative talents.

This included Cookham Dean CofE Primary School, Knowl Hill CofE Academy, Bisham CofE Academy, Oldfield Primary School and Wessex Primary School.

The atmosphere was ‘electric’ as performers showcased a range of skills including dancing, singing, gymnastics and magic tricks.

The judging panel included Paralympic champion Jeanette Chippington, Maidenhead Lions youth officer Carol Pearce and website manager Ayo Oyewusi.

Cookham Dean CofE Primary School were chosen as the winners, while Wessex Primary School were awarded second place.

Event lead Romilly Hryczanek said: “All of the hard work organising the second Maidenhead Lions’ Talent Show was made worth it when I saw the happy faces of the 18 children who took part.”

The event, supported by The Shanly Foundation, took place on Saturday, November 22.
