Kiki Oshilaja said the Rebels must ‘dig in’ from now until the end of the season after the central defender scored for the third game running in Saturday’s 2-1 win over Eastbourne Borough.
Oshilaja, who swivelled in the box to hook home Slough’s equaliser in the 30th minute, admitted they’d not been good enough in the league during the first half of the campaign. But he and his teammates appear keen to make amends in 2026 and continue their recent rise up the table.
Consecutive victories over Maidenhead United, Chesham United and Eastbourne have lifted the side out of the relegation zone and up to 16th in the National League South ahead of Saturday’s trip to bottom of the table Chippenham Town.
The Rebels had been set for a quicker turnaround, but this evening’s (Monday) clash at Chelmsford City has been postponed due to a frozen pitch.

Slough struggled to get going in the early stages of Saturday’s clash at Arbour Park. Former Rebels George Alexander deservedly swept the visitors in front in the early stages, and it looked like Scott Davies’ side would be caught cold in bitterly cold conditions.
However, they warmed to their task as the match wore on with Oshilaja hooking home the equaliser on the half-hour mark, and Wiktor Makowski drilling home what proved the winner on the hour mark. Oshilaja then helped sure up the defence in the remaining minutes as the hosts held on for a deserved victory.
Speaking after the final whistle, Oshilaja said it was time for the Rebels to ‘dig in’ and improve their league position.
“Winning three games back-to-back is not easy, it’s not a given,” he said.
“Obviously we’re pleased with that, and we’ve started the new year in a positive way.
“The boys knew that first half performance wasn’t good enough. We know that and can feel that ourselves. But obviously, to get the equaliser and come in level was a big boost. And we then went on to get the second goal.
“The reality is that we haven’t had a good first half of the season. So, the boys have got to dig in from here. We’ve started getting the results and we’ve just got to tick the games off one by one.
“The boys are a good bunch. We work hard and within ourselves we know we’ve got quality. We know that when things aren’t going our way, or we go 1-0 down, we know we can get back into games. We persevered and we managed to get the result.
“We’re not looking down. We’re looking at what’s above us and we’ll just keep pushing on game by game.”
